Infection prevention through education

What we offer you beyond the disinfectant bottle?

A good disinfectant solves a problem. A good supplier helps you avoid needing emergency solutions.

For more than a decade, we have been manufacturing professional disinfection and hygiene products. Over time, we have understood that, for a hospital, clinic, or practice, choosing a product is just one piece of a larger system.

What matters is what you can prove about the product, what documents you have available, how it is integrated into work procedures, and whether the people using it have access to the information they need.

That is why, at Klintensiv, support does not stop at the bottle.

Additional testing

We are conducting additional testing, beyond standard requirements.

A biocidal product is evaluated through efficacy tests applicable to its category and use, in accordance with the standards and requirements relevant to the product's authorization. For most products in the medical range, we have extended the microbiological evaluation through additional testing on clinically significant microorganisms relevant to the healthcare environment, beyond the microorganisms used in the applicable standard tests.

Additional testing includes:
  • Candida auris
  • Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)
  • Klebsiella pneumoniae
  • Acinetobacter baumannii
  • Enterococcus faecium

These microorganisms are of clinical interest to healthcare facilities in Romania, in the context of healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial resistance. Some of them are associated with a relevant incidence among hospitalized patients and with antimicrobial resistance profiles that can limit therapeutic options. Tests are performed under the conditions and for the microbiological activities indicated in the documentation for each product, and supporting documents are available upon request.

Batch control

Each batch is additionally checked.

Product evaluation does not end at the time of its authorization. For us, the quality control of the product that actually reaches the user is also important. That is why we additionally test product batches at the National Laboratory for Biocidal Product Control within ICECHIM. Through these analyses, we verify the relevant parameters of the product and maintain traceability between the evaluated product and subsequently manufactured products. Thus, quality control is supported by checks performed on manufactured batches, and not just by the documentation related to the initial evaluation.

Technical support

Full documentation and technical support, upon request

In a healthcare facility, a disinfectant product must be accompanied by documentation that allows for its identification, verification, and proper use.

Upon request, we provide:
  • Official documentation: biocidal authorization, technical data sheet, and safety data sheet (including concentrations, contact times, and conditions of use).
  • Efficacy reports: documentation and available studies regarding microbiological testing and declared efficacy activities.
  • Batch traceability: certificates of analysis for the delivered batches.

For any request for specific documents or for technical clarifications, the Klintensiv support team provides the necessary assistance in identifying relevant information.

Procedures and templates

Procedures and templates you can use

A good procedure should not just remain in a file. It must be accessible and applicable by the people who actually work with the products and equipment in the facility. In the Print Media section, you will find free procedures and support materials for hygiene and disinfection activities in medical offices, dental clinics, and operating rooms.

The materials address, depending on the field:
  • surface disinfection;
  • instrument disinfection;
  • hand disinfection;
  • 3-phase instrument reprocessing;
  • organization of cleaning and disinfection activities.
Fillable templates for organizing and tracking activities:
  • disinfection plan;
  • hygiene program;
  • record of disinfectant products used;
  • record of prepared solutions.

The materials can be used as a starting point and adapted to the procedures and specifics of each unit.

Practical guides

Practical hygiene and disinfection guides

Information relevant to medical practice is often distributed across normative acts, standards, technical documents, and procedures. Therefore, we have created practical hygiene and disinfection guides, available for free in PDF format, which consolidate relevant information for different fields of activity.

Depending on the field, the guides cover topics such as:
  • legislative framework and applicable requirements;
  • identification and classification of risk areas;
  • organization of cleaning and disinfection activities;
  • hand hygiene;
  • surface cleaning and disinfection;
  • instrument reprocessing;
  • organization of sanitation activities;
  • waste management;
  • relevant documentation and records;
  • checklists for internal verification of activities.

Their goal is to transform technical and legislative information into a tool that is easier to consult and use in day-to-day activities.

Even a correctly chosen product must be used in accordance with the applicable instructions and procedures.

Video materials

That is why we also provide demonstrative video materials that show, depending on the product, practical aspects of its use:

  • preparation and dilution of solutions;
  • application method;
  • contact time;
  • sequence of steps;
  • use of the product in different situations.

Videos are a practical resource for staff working with the products, alongside the technical data sheet, the label, and other product-related documents.

Beyond the bottle is a support system

A benchmark in medical disinfection means more than just a compliant product.

It means additional testing, quality control, accessible documentation, procedures, practical materials, training, and technical support.

At Klintensiv, we strive to build this support around the product, so that professionals receive not just a bottle, but also the information and resources they need to integrate it correctly into their work.

Because a disinfection product finds its place within a workflow system. And we want to contribute to that system as well, not just deliver the bottle.

Proven efficacy through testing. Klintensiv — independently tested, fully documented.
Frequently Asked Questions

A partner, not just a supplier

1. What additional testing does Klintensiv perform for its disinfectant products?

Klintensiv's medical-grade disinfection products are additionally evaluated through microbiological testing on microorganisms of clinical importance, beyond the standard tests applicable to the product's category and usage. Additional testing includes microorganisms such as Candida auris, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Enterococcus faecium. Tests are performed for the microbiological activities indicated in the documentation for each product, and supporting documents are available upon request.

2. How is the quality of Klintensiv disinfectant product batches verified?

Audit and feedback can improve compliance with infection prevention and control practices, although the effect varies depending on the context and how the intervention is designed. Specific, recent, and relevant feedback can help teams identify practices that need improvement and track change over time.

3. What documents can Klintensiv provide for disinfection products?

Staff shortages can increase the risk of healthcare-associated infections, as understaffing has been linked in studies to a higher probability of these infections occurring. Furthermore, infection prevention and control programs require dedicated staff sized according to the complexity of the activity.

4. What free procedures and templates does Klintensiv offer for hygiene and disinfection?

The difference between a procedure and an infection prevention and control program is that a procedure describes what must be done in a specific situation, while a program also includes clear responsibilities, training, supervision, monitoring, auditing, feedback, and the ability to intervene based on data.

5. What information do the free Klintensiv hygiene and disinfection guides contain?

A single training session is not sufficient for infection prevention over time, as the transmission of information does not guarantee the maintenance of correct behaviors. Practices must be supported by refreshing knowledge, monitoring, feedback, and integrating training into a continuous infection prevention and control program.

6. What training materials does Klintensiv provide for the use of disinfection products?

Time pressure can affect cleaning and disinfection in hospitals when speed of execution takes precedence over following the necessary steps, and the quality of the process is no longer monitored with the same attention. Therefore, working time must be analyzed in conjunction with the quality criteria of the cleaning and disinfection process.

7. Does Klintensiv organize continuing education activities for medical professionals?

Infection prevention becomes even more important as antimicrobial resistance increases, since some infections may become more difficult to treat as antimicrobial options diminish. Preventing transmission, surveillance, and infection control must therefore be integrated into strategies for combating antimicrobial resistance.

8. What does the support offered by Klintensiv mean beyond the disinfection product?

The core idea behind the seven reasons why hospital-acquired infections that we know how to prevent still occur is that prevention depends not only on the existence of knowledge and procedures, but also on how the system enables the application, measurement, monitoring, and maintenance of correct practices.

Klintensiv disinfectants are approved by the Ministry of Health via the National Commission for Biocidal Products. ⚠️ Use biocides responsibly.
