Hygiene and disinfection of office spaces
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, office space management is facing increased requirements regarding hygiene and safety. Administering these spaces involves implementing social distancing measures between desks and strictly adhering to protocols for cleaning and disinfecting office areas. It is a crucial responsibility for building managers to ensure a safe working environment for all employees by providing the necessary equipment and products to maintain a high standard of hygiene. These actions are designed to minimize the risk of infection transmission and to promote the health and well-being of the staff.
High-traffic areas, such as frequently touched surfaces like door handles, elevators, desks, chairs, or items in common areas, must be prioritized and disinfected frequently, both before the start of the workday, after it ends, and whenever necessary.

For proper sanitization of the workspace, it is also necessary to perform air disinfection in rooms, using a disinfectant for microaeroflora and a nebulizer. Depending on the volume of the room, a corresponding amount of product is introduced into the nebulizer, depending on the type of disinfection desired: 5 minutes for medium and low-level disinfection or 60 minutes for high-level disinfection. Using a nebulizer sanitizes and turns workspaces into safe and healthy environments.
According to the Ministry of Health, disinfectants for nebulization must have the following characteristics: the preparation type must be a ready-to-use solution for disinfection by spraying, the solutions used must have a broad spectrum of action, in accordance with European and national efficacy protocols for such products – for example, bactericidal (EN 13727), yeasticidal (EN 136624), and virucidal (EN 14476). Additionally, the products must be listed in the National Register of Biocidal Products, category TP2 (surface disinfectants). All products used in office spaces, healthcare units, or public spaces must be accompanied by the authorization issued by the National Commission for Biocidal Products, within its validity period, and with labels written in Romanian.
